The study was published online in （Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine）. Buckwheat honey, due to its dark color and stimulating taste, used to be sold as a foreign product. The effects of polyphenols and oligosaccharides in buckwheat honey on the improvement of human intestinal microorganisms were studied. Twelve kinds of polyphenols and four kinds of oligosaccharides were identified in buckwheat honey samples from eight different producing areas by HPLC and ion chromatography. By sequencing human intestinal microorganisms in vitro, buckwheat honey has a more obvious effect on improving intestinal microorganisms compared with oligosaccharides of the same concentration.
